Craighill Rook Knife

1 item left

The Rook Knife is the one we've always wanted and could never find – a thoroughly distilled folding knife that strips away the excess, yet still somehow feels both distinctive and entirely familiar.

Pocket knives have always possessed some magical, gravitational power in the world. From the time that we're old enough to understand their value as useful, beautiful, dangerous tools, they hold us in their grip, beckoning to be picked up and wielded.

But a knife is not a toy. They demand care, attention, and caution – to own one is to accept responsibility for the potential energy contained within.

The culmination of more than two years of design and prototyping, the Rook Knife is a frame lock folding knife with S35VN blade steel, a drop point blade, and a flipper mechanism for easy one-handed opening. Constructed entirely from metal, it's slimmer than most folding knives, but with greater density and heft.

The Stainless version is monochromatic and beautifully reflective, with the unified materiality highlighting the nuances of the overall form.

The Tricolor version features a body that's half brass-half stainless, and a blade that's black PVD coated for a hint of tactical precision. A nod to the classic Craighill color/material palette, it's an unusual blend that works shockingly well. The brass side is left untreated and will develop a natural patina – the more you use it, the brighter it will stay.

      Superb knife

This is a small very high quality EDC knife with a great flipper action. I really like the knife finish with the brass body on one side and stainless steel on the other. The knife feels good in the hand and the framelock mechanism is easy to use. The blade wasn't super sharp on receipt but after sharpening it holds a very good edge. It's difficult to find a high quality folding knife with a blade under 60mm, so this is a perfect knife for my needs.
